As we start winding down to the end of 2021 we would like to take this opportunity to share with you some news, notes and travel ideas. Through all the ups and downs of lockdowns and promises of renewed travel experiences, we are truly grateful to you for your ongoing support. Your faith in us is greatly appreciated.

We have all had to accept the harsh routine of life in a pandemic, but as Helen Keller said: “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.”

We continue to work remotely and assure you that we are fully operational. We moved out of our office at 885 Justice Mahomed Street Brooklyn.  Meeting with clients is by appointment only or telephonic.  We are situated in Irene, Centurion.

International Travel
Amid many new challenges around the latest Covid-19 variant, the world has all but shut us out of existance. Just as the South African travel industry started getting back on its feet, the Omicron variant dealt us a massive blow. Within 24 hours no less than 28 countries around the world closed their doors to South African travellers. As no timelines are forthcoming, we can only forward any adjusted information as when we receive. A few countries will allow entry to Nationals and their immediate families and to those who hold a Residence permit of the country to be travelled to.

Travel Insurance
It is of paramount importance that all travellers avail themselves of travel insurance to best suit their travel needs. Please be sure that you are aware of enhancements and changes brought into effect by the Travel Insurance providers. A Travel agent is only authorised to assist with the purchase of your travel insurance policy and provide factual information relating to the cover. Any advice can only be provided by an authorised Travel Insurance Financial Services Provider.

SOUTH AFRICA

Turn your attention to the domestic tourism market in an attempt to salvage not only your holiday season but also South Africa’s summer season. Herewith some ideas for the School Holiday hustle.

There really is something very special about a trip down to Cape Town, one of our most beautiful cities with a cosmopolitan vibe to impress. There is just so much to do. Hike up Table Mountain, or take the cable car – so much less strenuous or swim in some of the most iconic beaches, (once you are numb all over), it is fabulous. Visit the penquins at Boulders Beach or Kalk Bay where starfish and baby octopus are in abundance. Shop in vintage shops, go for walks in Newlands-forest or walk along the Sea Point promenade, stopping for ice cream or coffee. If walking is not your thing, drive along Chapman’s Peak with its breath-taking views or down to the popular Hout Bay sea-side neighbourhood where you can watch the fisherman come in with their catch of the day. Eat fresh fish at Mariner’s Wharf or dine out in world class restaurants at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Cape Town offers a holiday as jam-packed with adventure or as laid back as you want it to be.

Flip from the cold Atlantic to the warm Indian ocean where the Agulhas current flows along the Kwa Zulu Natal coastline. Kwa Zulu Natal promises white beaches, a unique fusion of natural beauty, modern sophistication and pulsating energy. From the south to the north experience authentic Indian curry or fine dining, quad biking, hiking, river rafting and abseiling to name a few. Visit uShaka Marine world in Durban. Kwa Zulu Natal is a surfer’s paradise and for the more adventurous swim with the sharks, or go north to Umhlanga, Ballito and Shaka’s Rock for family fun in the sun.

Head inland to the Midlands, where you can browse the Midlands Meander or just stay a while in the heart of Kwa Zulu Natal, with its beautiful surroundings. The Midlands offer many diverse experiences; outstanding accommodation, fabulous cuisine and restaurants, outdoor activities and for the brave, over-the-top adventure sports. Visit historic landmarks, wildlife conservation and best of all shop, appreciate and delve into unique arts and crafts. There is so much to explore and do in the Midlands making this the ideal holiday for families, individuals, adrenalin junkies and those who just want to travel at a gentler pace.
